People could ( or have) used "patent" to perpetrate fraud on investors.
Not to mention the wasted time Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, Biological etc. Engineers would spend looking them over.
BTW, I am not sure if that office was in Crystal City or Alexandria,Va...Stupid memory...Also, I can't remember if the hard copies were on micro film or paper.
I remember the guy who was only a few years older than myself was explaining "royalties" like "If you created a combination tongue depressor and flashlight, you'd have to work out royalty payments with the holder of each component alone"
It was interesting also that very few people get patents on there own, rather selling their invention to a company or individual. That kind of sucks IMO.
I was thinking of some interesting whacko conspiricy theories off internet where there have been inventors whose name has something to do with their invention or historical acts even, strange theory.
The patent office used to brag that they were "the most diverse office in the Gov't"...I was thinking," that's STUPID, every other country knows all our technology when it first comes out"
There was this one old engineer from there, who I used to see around the city, and he would breathe outside through a pipe connected to like a gas mask cartridge, it was funny because it was like the opposite of smoking!!!
On the perpetual motion/energy:
Most grandpa's as well as myself (sometimes) give off methane(?)...We use cheap energy now with little consideration for our grandchildren's needs.
Seriously though, I saw a show where the whole dairy farms electricity came from methane from their POOP!, water washes it into grates where they get milked, it goes into a tank half underground that's kept warm, there's some catalyst microorganisms added, the vent is piped into a converted computer controlled diesel generator running ALL the electric for the farm!!!
My own perpetual motion idea I will probably date, get notarized, mail it to myself then put a vid on youtube. Only then will I reveal it.
