I have an extra fire extinguisher around the house and i was wondering if there was an easy way to refill with an air compressor and lets say rubbing alcohaul for a flamethrower. i dont want to waste the extinguisher if what i am trying to to cant be done because my parents might get pissed. if anyone has any idea on how to refill a fire extinguisher at home with an air compressor let me know. thanks.

air compressor = big no no
you have to use something with out oxygen or else there is a risk of explosion, i'm not sure since the fuel is liquid.

if any 1/4" or 1/8" fitting fit in your nozzle, add a quick disconnect for easy connection to a gas source, like a male coupler,

i have no clue on how to fill with liquid, i guess you can tap a 1/8" npt thread on the side of the tank and plug it when you done filling it, or get some GREAT welder to attach a large ball valve on it or something

this brings an idea from my head, can you pump in waste air?
have something like a sealed fishing tank with you pump in it, you burn something in it until it runs out of oxygen... repeat...

i'm bored

just twist the top of the fire extinguisher to get it off and instead of filling it with air get a propan bottle and get that attached by attaching a hose to the exinguisher bottle and then attaching the hose to the propane bottle but be carefull because some fire extinguishers have plastic insides

noname I'm going to hope that you are being sarcastic! If you are then I'm still not sure what your talking about!

Please tell me that you know co2 is not only inert but it's used in some fire extinguishers.

i would personally prefer u did not put something flammable into a fire extinguisher, its the complete opposite of what it is meant for, not to mention, VERY illegal.

CO2 isn't too flammable. WOW suggested to pressurize CO2 in the extinguisher to spray out the alchohol.

C02 is exactly the opposite of flammable, and you pressurize the chamber with C02 then in the rare event of a flashback, you dont explode
in the upcoming presidential election, there will be several candidates who will be running, one of whom is Hillary Clinton. Now WAIT A SECOND!!! I though there was some sort of rule that prevented someone from serving more than two terms in office. Vote Against Hillary: Presidential Elections 08

Just use propane.... there won't be enough O2 in the extingusher to support combustion.

i understand what you were saying about the c02 so it doesnt flash back in the bottle. it would be a good idea with something more combustable but i dont think alcohaul would explode in an enclosed space. if it lit on fire in the bottle just close the valve and it will burn of of its oxygen up in like five seconds.

well considering its alcohal, it wont burn for more than 5 seconds, and its in a metal cylinder that is made to hold alot of pressure, i really dont think it would explode.
