You other Europeans sure missed a great opportunity to get together and talk spud while enjoying one of the best shows on earth!!

Here's a teaser:

And here's more:
http://fotoalbum.dds.nl/vagevuur/pompoen2009/

At the moment we left ( still some going on) they had shattered the world record ( at least for trebuchet-chunkers) and set it at 734 meters

One catagory was the target shoot...in this case a fast moving car!!
A crazy Brit drove around on the field...unfortunately...he wasn;t hit and won 1500 euro's doing so.
The second round of target shoot came VERY close, a matter of a couple of feet...

One of the Trebuchets made a nice sonic boom as the tip of the sling wipped on the return stroke.. :D
By the way...300-400 meters out was a field full of cattle...wich were bombarded with chunks...but none got directly hit..Appearently Belgians don't care much for rules... or restictions..

Next year we are allowed to do a demo shoot!!
I'll do the honourary opening shot ( :D ) and we are allowed to blast some stuff...maybe even join the target shoot ( can't miss!!)

Hopefully we can build a couple of cannons so everone can come to shoot some..without the hassle of transporting a cannon over some borders.

It's a real shame about borders, would love to bring concoct something oversized and cart it over.

Tentatively pencilled on my calender for next year, prepare several litres of epoxy and a kilometre of drainpipe :D

Wow sound slike it was great fun, then again I spent the time in Poland, which was also great fun. I'd love to come some time, but i'm afraid that "i wanna watch some pumpkin chuckin" isn't a very good argument to go to Belgium...

Cool. I'd love to attend this kind of thing, but it would be a titanic effort to get myself over there.

Also, I'm semi-rubbish with foreign languages....
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

Oh come on, surely it wouldn't be that difficult to get there by train?
