Ever think about changing the colors of the site?
The colors used are proven to be the most difficult to use and are not used in industry or 99.9% of other sites on the net just for that reason.
Many well funded, well educated people have already done the years of leg work figuring this stuff out.
The colors may look pretty and may be "unique" but are not at all conducive to long term use.
White on black for text is about the worst combination available. Notice books are printed "Black on white" Black background absorbs too much and provides either way too much contrast or not enough.
Blue on black is even worse as there is so little contrast that it makes reading difficult at best. I realize that the text color can be changed, its just that none of the colors work well with a black background.
Not trying to be offensive...just trying to help. Hope you take the suggestion and modifiy the color scheme of the sight for the betterment of all who enjoy it.
Thanks,
Thesenator

Ever think about keeping such a small uninfluential comment to yourself?
The colors used are not proven to be the most difficult, and are used here for the reason that this site has as many members as it does now... the majority of the members like them.
Many well funded and well educated people browse this site and have already figured out what is good.
The colors do look pretty and are unique, as well as conducive to long term use because this site has been around for a good 4-5 years.
White on black is not the worst combination possible. Although notice books are printed "black on white', this site is not a notice book.
Blue on black is good to, because you have bright on dark, which is a lot easier to read than some people who use Magenta text on a pink background.
Not trying to be offensive, just trying to tell you to keep your opinion to yourself. Hope you take my suggestion and not state your opinions when we all know it has no influence on anyone whatsoever.
Thanks,

Ive actually suggested to PC myself, hence the magentism of noobs to this site. The black and blue are just "cool" while attracting dipshits rather then people suited for techincal discussion.

Most "pro" sites have a white background and black text. Look at spudtech...
If im not mistaken DR turned down frequenting these forums do to the "look". Obviously these colors are kinda trademarked to this forum, and my avatar was "custom" made for this site... (That picture was brown tell I f*cked with the hue and sh*t to make it blue)
Your point is good, valid, and worthy of notice. But for the trouble involved I dont think it will be changed.
Im on my knees for a noob finally coming here and having good grammar!!! *thanks god of parents choice!* There is "people" with 400 posts that still look like sh*t. Much similar to saboting some spaghettios (F*cked spelling on that for sure) and shooting them at a wall. Hope your just as talented in your writing as your potato gun related "skill". I can now honestly say "Welcome to the forums!".

If you truly hate the color scheme, push Ctrl A and then copy it all to Word, then change the colors, we like it the way it is.

Yes, and spudtech is owned by a man who makes a hell of a lot more money. You're comparing two different sites, spudtech is formal, and this forum is more of an informal setting that isn't as strict as spudtech."The colors used are not proven to be the most difficult" ~Drac

Drac, that wasnt a "bash" by any stretch...

This is the statement that I was replying to. This site pulls people off content, and as you stated the "formal" content is not what is attracting them. Did you notice how many 20+ year olds there are here? Not very many. They frequent other forums, so if the site presented a "nice" "clean" discussion it would attract "more" educated members. By the "apperance" and "previous" members it greatly affects new members joining. I mean its as simple do you dress better going to McD or a business office? Yea, both are kept "clean" for the most part, but its the atomsphere that encourages the degree of dress.
"I'm quite sure that others before this guy have used proper spelling and grammar...."
Surely, but since there occurence is fewer and fewer there presence is greatly accepted.
"That's DR, he can do whatever he wants."
First, I used DR as a example because in the realm of spudding he contributes the MOST of any other that I can think of at the current. Sure, hes not the soul of spudding, but what is wrong with only furthering theories and improvments on this site?
"If you don't like it here, why don't you stay away too?"
Who said I didnt? Is there any problems of discussing things that could be improved and the drawbacks? HELL NO! How do you make ANYTHING better without exploiting and building upon its flaws? That was a ill-ly dealt assumption.

I'll give you that one, there aren't that many members on here above 20, but we do have some brilliant minds, like wiht the BBMGs (can't remember the name, but he came up with some nice ones) so did you, and Atlantis.pimpmann22 wrote:"and are used here for the reason that this site has as many members as it does now..."

True, I also appreciate good grammar and such, a lot easier on the brain."I'm quite sure that others before this guy have used proper spelling and grammar...."

Indeed illy (sp?) dealt, but with some of your post content I assumed (making an ass out of myself mostly), but still. even if the colors are a flaw, I doubt they're going to be changed any time soon."If you don't like it here, why don't you stay away too?"

I understand it wasn't a bash, and i certainly hope you didn't take my post as a bash either, that's not how I wanted it to come across.
