I'm afraid I'll have to disagree with you there, as you can see from this fired slug the fibre tail remains attached on firing, unlike wadding would.
As you can see from this lineup, all brenneke type slugs have a lightweight tail of some description to ensure they fly straight.

Hmm...10-4. So design the spudgun slug like a shotgun slug. Rifle the slug, then epoxy some sort of thick fabric material to the backside of it.

Well it's not doing any harm, but for stable flight unless blessed with a rifled barrel spudders have to look elsewhere for stabilisation, such as the work
