What do people do when you unscrew the back of a combustion because it isn't working and hit the sparker. Do you sit and watch the fitting melt or do other people actually do stuff about it?

I made the mistake of trying to blow it out.....................BAD idea lol. Try waveing it fast.

That has happened to me what i do is put the cap back on partialy leaving a little space uncovered and the fire turns off

If that happens take the gun and invert it and set it on the ground and the fire will suffocate.

i take a 500 gallon engine with a 2 and a half inch hose and spray the sucker down.

Yeah, I'm going to put my hand next to something that's spraying out 6" of blue flames. I tried blowing it out but it ended up melting the threads off.

Uh... yeah? Those six inch of flames aint that hot. Just cap it off and screw it shut. Since you blew it out, you were adding more O<sub>2</sub> to the problem, which is another reason your threads melted.

Just shoving the bottom against the ground works too.

-OR-

Switch to propane metering, and you'll never have this problem again, (outside of testing). The last time I had a launcher that didn't fire was just before I made my meter, using starter fluid, and a few times here and there tuning in new launchers and their meter pressures.
