Here comes yet another thread I bet only one or two will be interested in... I figure D_Hall might find this useful for the light gas gun simulation he mentioned a while back.
There's an old book length NATO report titled "The Theory of High Speed Guns" by a guy named Arnold Seigel. In the book he describes a variety of methods to analyze and improve high speed guns, mainly light gas guns. If you're interested in high speed guns, this would be something to check out.
Be warned that the book is very heavy on math. There's a lot of little ideas to increase velocity sprinkled throughout the book, but you can't escape the math.
Anyhow, I spent a good amount of time a few months ago cleaning up the pages of the PDF. I then forgot about this until I printed off a copy on a book printing website called Lulu. I figured others might want a copy so I set the book to public so other can buy it.

That's some interesting stuff. I just skip over the math and stick with the dimensionless graphs and stuff. On a random note, I just watched some video in chemistry by a guy named Charles Seigel. I wonder if they are related.

I'm hoping to use at least something from this monograph in BAGS 2 for greatly improved accuracy at transonic velocities. So with luck no one who doesn't want to learn everything behind pneumatic guns won't have to.
