The 2 cents are wheat copper cents made in the 1940's.
The half cent front sight fits nicely in the gap.

That is very cool... Just like the last. You know... Any pennys made in 1980 or earlier are solid copper. Did you use the wheat pennys for any special reason?

Actually the break off is 1982. I know because I once cast something from post 1982 pennies. Other than that, great sight.

Very interesting.
Another possibility might be to drill a hole through a penny and use it as a peep sight.
