The simples would be to cut a slot in your barrel that will fit the darts and cover it with a sleeve you can slide forward to expose the slot and load, then slide back to seal the barrel.

Jacks thats what I planned on doing but what can I use for a sleeve?
It is a fortunate quirk of common sizes of pipe that let various types slide fit over another.
They may not be the same material but you can usually mix and match Copper, PVC etc and find that OD and ID are perfect.
Or just improvise. There may be an old container or bottle etc. that you can cut the ends off and use.

If you are using a 2" PVC barrel, you will probably be able to use 2.5" electrical conduit as a sleeve with minimal effort. Even though 2.5" PVC pipe is hard to find, 2.5" electrical conduit is fairly common at hardware stores in the US.

carve an L grove at the base of the barrel (with a router it's a very very easy job), then use a bolt that can slide in the grove, the screw it into either a sleeve or a hollow "plug" attached to the valve
