If you used a fast pump (or a tank) to quickly pressurize your chamber to 150psi - 200psi and then used an a/c compressor to increase the pressure, would it be faster than pressurizing the input to your a/c compressor?

If you still pressurize the input of the a/c then yes. If not then it might be slower because or the slow a/c filling... It depends on how fast your a/c is and how much more pressure you want...

It will be faster than the fridge compressor either way. After that, pressurizing the fridge compressor would make it pump faster. If you have a piston style fridge compressor, pressure from the inlet would flow through the cylinder until your gun is at the inlet pressure.

Keep in mind that some fridge compressors won't start under load (with pressure already applied)

most I've seen start under pressure... even if AC compressors are different in theis respect you can vent the volume directly on the output

though I have no idea if it would be faster...you'd have to measure teh exact flow at different pressures and then calculate it somehow

the question depends entirely on the desired output pressure. for me using a input of 30psi and not having the gun pressurized is the fastest way to get to 650psi
