If you submerge the pvc barrel in hot enough water (boiling?) then it gets soft and you twist it, wouldn't it form grooves good enough for a rifled barrel? Has this been done before? Thanks

You can't buy rifled barrels smaller than 1.5" from sponsors.

I proposed this same idea not too long ago. It was decided that it would be rather difficult to heat a length of PVC the uniformly, then twist it to the desired ratio.

I've rifled several PVC barrels in a few different sizes and it isn't that difficult. Check out the Hubb Library and look for Improving the Barrel. It demonstrates the tool that most spudders use to rifle PVC, and is the same one I've used successfully.

Yeah someone had this idea. I think the same as hubb. It'd just be too hard to get it uniform without some kind of mould...

Ok. Just a thought. Also Hubb, I have looked through the Improving the barrel section. Interesting. My only problem is that I don't have the dowel or anything to put the nails in that is smaller than 1/2" pipe ATM.

There was a how to posted that used a metal bolt as the cutter. A 3/8" bolt should for 1/2" pipe as 3/8 bolts have 9/16" heads. I will post a link to the how to.
