Looking good. What kind of valve are you using? I think I see a ball valve but I'm not sure. Any detailed pictures of the breech?

So... I'm reconsidering a number of major things in my design. I'm far too indecisive, I'm getting impatient. I intend to have something made within two weeks. Look out. :)

I'll keep the changes from what I planned secret (seriously this time) to keep everyone on their toes..

I lied about keeping my design secret. Secrecy is silly.

I've started detailing my thoughts on my blog: http://trettel.org/blog/cat/fang4

I'm doing this partly for others' benefit and partly so I can remember precisely what I did and how I did it.

Looking good. I especially appreciate the math. I had to do some similar work when I was planning out my turret. What do you plan to do for turret rotation?

I wonder if your revolver will look anything like mine does... Unfortunately I'll never be allowed to share anything about it here.

There's a lot more math to come if you like those parts. I intend to detail interior, exterior, and terminal ballistics as applied to FANG 4. I'll also detail impact design and explain how I'm going to design and build the air reservoir I'm going to use. There's probably more I'll do too, but that's just what I can think of right now.

The turret will use a mechanism similar to what all Nerf auto-rotating turrets use. The main difference is that the cam will be inverted. The cam notches will be on the inside of a cylinder rather than the outside. I will use fused deposition modeling to make the cam.

The revolver I mentioned above unfortunately won't be entered in the competition or even posted for that matter due to a deal I made, but I'm drawing up plans for one last Nerf gun before I get out of the hobby completely.

The final project will be a high powered bolt action gun designed for long range engagements in private Nerf wars with no restrictions on power. It will most likely be chambered for store-bought Micro darts with a few slight modifications. Unlike what I've done in the past, expect a rather strong emphasis on aesthetics and some tacticool features.

Everything else I'm doing at the moment takes priority over this project so I don't really expect to work on it anytime soon.

I just ordered a bunch of parts for FANG 4.

As for when it'll be done... I anticipate November due to scheduling difficulties. I intend to fully test and tweak it before posting anything public, so I'll very likely have something working in late September or early October.

The design has change so many times. I have told a number of you little details in the past. Consider whatever I said to be probably wrong unless I showed you some of my recent CAD work.

By next weekend I expect to complete the first working prototype of a project I've been focused on for the past month or so. I'm confident the Nerf community will receive it well. It's unlike anything they've produced so far, and it's also my first venture outside of pneumatics in several years.

Here is a shitty picture for your viewing pleasure:
