CO2 with bbmg's

I am getting sick of looking for pumps, compressors, and all that shinanigans for my portable tank for my bbmg and seriously looking into CO2 now. I had a look at HPA tanks and they were expensive, then when I looked back at CO2 it was a lot cheaper so I think I'd choose CO2. So my question is, how long would say a 20oz CO2 tank last with my bbmg? Say I reg it to like 100 psi and use it through a remote line from a backpack. Or should I bump it up to a 24 oz or whatever, Im a complete noob with this so I need advice.

If you reg it that far down should last you awhile. A big part of it is the volume of your gun. Make it as small as possible in order to keep gas efficiency high.

C02 is pricey to refill because they have to order it in cylinders, most dive shops have high pressure compressors so they don't have to pay for anything except electricity. HPA refills cant cost anywhere from $0-3 where as c02 tanks are 7-15.

HPA is more consistent, and wont freeze your gun and you don't have to compensate for liquid c02. and you can pick up a cheap 48 ci HPA tank off of amazon.com for 40 bucks so in the long run HPA will cost you less.
How long the c02 lasts depends on the temperature outside, but it should last you a few thousand rounds if your regulator isn't junk.

That's odd Mr. Sandman-- I can get a 20 oz. refill for $4 bucks. I'd like to use HPA more, but the closest available fill area is 45 minutes away, unless there's a dive shop near me that I don't know about, but in WI I kinda doubt it.

Refills at sportsauthority said online that they are 3 bucks for a large tank. The cons you mentioned about CO2 were what steered me away from it in the first place, but the price of HPA still seems a little high. Plus, sportsauthority online didn't say they have HPA refills which is another reason I looked into CO2. I don't know where elso to get HPA refills. Right now where I live it's in the 90s and can get up in the hundreds.

Gun Freak dont you live near the beach in Florida, you probably have a dive shop nearby or my local paintball shop will fill HPA tanks up for 5 dollars.

I keep seeing all these tanks with regs, so the tank reg brings the HPA from 3000 psi down to 800 right, but then, what reg do I use to get it from 800 down to below 200? Can anybody link me one from amazon.com?

I know that at my dive shops they won't fill a tank unless you are scuba certified.

For me a paintball store will fill my HPA tank but the dive shop policy is no refill without certification.

Ok cool, and whats the deal with a remote line, this will be in a backpack so I will need one. Does that go straight from the tank to the marker? Can it hold the 800 psi? And can I stick the regulator on the tank in my backpack then the line so I don't have to have the regulator on the connection to the gun?

My remote will hold 3000 PSI so it works fine with 800.

It may be possible with adapters but, my rig will not allow that. I have the reg embedded in stock of my bbmg. It is small enough that it doesn't make much weight or size difference. The only drawback is that I can't use the same reg on all my bbmgs or cannons.

Ok thanks for the help. I don't mine putting the reg on my gun connection. I found some regs on amazon but some are 100 bucks and some are 75, one is 55 but that is still pretttty expensive. The ones linked to in the other thread are gone, the ones from ebay are unlisted and the one you linked to is out of stock.

Also, is there an adapter that goes in the regulator to go to npt threads?
