is there an adapter that goes in the regulator to go to npt threads?
Absolutely. I just went and bought one at my paintball store. It was pretty cheap and goes from the male paintball thread to male 1/4" threads.

Cool, so I'd get one of those and a quick connect to go straight to my gun. Sweet! Now all I need to find is that Low Pressure Regulator... I might have to get it on amazon for 50 bucks.

What about these?
This one is cheap but has no gauge.

This was is more expensive, still no gauge though.

But I can fit a gauge after it. Are the regs universal, like they fit all the hoses and the threads are the same?

I would assume they have universal threads but, I can't guarantee it. Its a shame my reg isn't for sale anymore it was $20 and had a gauge.

Yeah that would be a nice one to get, but since it regs down to low pressure, adding a normal gauge to it would be cheap and easy.
Can you have a look at this page for me and find a good reg?

My Ninja tanks have a shim adjustable reg, they can go down to 450-500 psi. Instead of spending money to go lower, you could achieve the same effect by having a flow restriction on your trigger.

In vague terms it's how the WWII PAW 600 works, the so called high-low pressure system.
