Ok, so here's the deal. This summer has been a summer of ups and downs, and it's almost over (school starts in less than 2 weeks). I haven't done too much this summer as far as spudding is concerned, but I would like to make up for lost time and actually build something cool before school starts (or at least get a good start on it). Here are the parameters: It has to be a pneumatic, preferably a rifle (or shotgun or carbine etc.) style, It has to be fairly easy to build (I have failed so many times recently as far as spudding projects it's not even funny), it should be decently powerful (but doesn't have to be extremely so), it should be a fun build, and should be built at minimum expense (I am saving up for something non spudgun related), I would like to build it mostly if not entirely out of spare parts (I have a lot). And finally, I would like it to look as realistic as possible (within reason). I'd just like to have something fun to shoot before i get too deep into school. Anyway, I know how creative you guys are at spudfiles, and I welcome any suggestions.

THANKS!

Air rifle style pump feeding a 1 inch shotgun barrel. Appearance would be a pump style shotgun. How good are your shop skills?

To make it semi auto?
Air rifle style pump feeding a 1 inch shotgun barrel. Appearance would be a pump style shotgun.
So you mean like a hand pump with a med. size chamber and a valve and a 1" barrel?
How good are your shop skills?
They are decent. I have pretty basic tools. A 8" drill press, 3 grinding wheels, wire wheel, buffing wheel, taps, dies, angle grinder, etc. I'd say my woodworking skills are better than my shop skills.

What I had in mind would look like one of these and work like one, but with a little more kick.

Either a piston or hammer valve could be used.

and how about a simple barrel sealer to go with that stock??

Edit:
on second thought... that stock alone would take me a few months (i'm not very good @ woodwork) so idk if you will be able to have it finished in 2 weeks

If you want ideas that use your "spare parts", it may be prudent to post a list of those "spare parts".

At any rate, you can't go wrong with a "copper gun"...co-ax, piston in a tee, or qev...all are easy.

Whatcha got? :)

hah, I don't know about THAT! But I'll do my best.

And yeah, I'm thinking I will probably just go with something like that. I have some 1/2" copper pipe that is just screamin' to be used as a barrel. So maybe a 3/4" steel chamber and a 1/2" copper barrel with just a simple barrel-sealing setup piloted by a blowgun with an attractive wooden stock?
Whatcha got?
Well, I've got quite a lot of spare parts. I have an assortment of steel pipe (mostly 1/2", but some 3/4", 3/8" and 1/4"), copper pipe, all sorts of brass fittings, about 3 or 4 blowgun valves I'm not using, some spare ball valves, springs, Sprinkler valves, etc, etc. No QEVs though. :(

Sounding like a plan in the making. :)
