Harness the power of precision mixtures of pressurized flammable vapor. Safety first! These are advanced potato guns - not for the beginner.

I found some "K-Flex" clear polyurethane tube at work, pretty hardwearing stuff, I think the I/D is around 8mm. I also cast it with a 3/8" bearing already in place, so instead of uniform hold it will already have a recess to retain the bearing.

Absolutely no idea what pressure it will hold though, testing in about 5 hours.

There certainly is a lot of heat generated, I took apart on of the cartridges I had only used at 6x and the foam disks that I use when casting which was exposed to the combustion had completely melted away

This is tough industrial grade stuff though, should hold up well. Only testing will tell, we'll see.

Is it just the picture or are they pretty long? It seems as if a bolt action could be difficult if they are as long as they look.

First of all great job on the cartridges :!: :salute:

And since you haven't build a proper launcher for it, my suggestion would be a double break barrel... that would totaly kick ass

Second the break-barrel design, though as Monbogg has shown it's no easy build.

Amazing cartridge setup, hybrid cartridges are getting to be a mini-revolution on Spudfiles, and maybe the entire spudding community.

It seems as if a bolt action could be difficult if they are as long as they look.
The cartridge is slightly shorter than the 14.5x114mm ammunition used in single shot anti-tank rifles, semi auto anti-material rifles and heavy machine guns,, shouldn't be too much of a problem.
thanks, sadly no because there just aluminum they will get damaged to easily,
If that is the only limitation, using a casing catcher could be a solution.

first of all yes the cartridges are quite long, also i dont really feel like making something that can have to much go wrong with it so its just going to be a simple bolt action, and as for difficulty im only going to have the bolt move at most 5cm just enough to get it to seal on the barrel and to lock it in place.

iv also been having problems with fueling even after doing all the calculations its still not working for me

sweet! really nice work, congratulations!

It's a real shame the bolt doesn't extract the cartridges, but that's a small detail, you made a multishot hybrid which works :D

very nice! look great you, you could add something to the cartridge to make it a bit easier to pull out. any idea on what kind of stock you going for?

thaks, i am very pleased with it at the moment and i am thinking of changing my original idea on the stock to this if not just for the fact that it would look cool but it will also cut down on the length, but it also means i will probably have to get a scope for it though
