Find a range of some sort preferable an open range where other odd firearms are frequently shot, the one you see all the time on pawn stars would be great but i would imagine that is someones property
Anyway google local ranges, call the owners and ask, the only thing that beats a try is a fail.

The Las Vegas meet was north of the intersection of Las Vegas Beltway and N Lamb Blvd.

If you set up in the desert for the day, you'll "be on someones property or something" ???
If you can't fix it, you don't own it.

People in the U.S. are very touchy about you being on their land, even if it is part of a desert. Somebody probably owns that land, might even be the federal government.
