While the design that was linked will reduce sound some, I would suggest going with a different design because that design has exterior holes which will significantly reduce sound damping performance.

do NOT put holes in the outer casing, it contradicts the purpose of your suppressor. They are made to capture and cool gasses before letting them out the barrel after the projectile has left. there is not a single commercially available suppressor that has holes in the outer casing

now im all for a suppressor on a firearm, but i always thought the point of these is to be loud :p

If you're shooting in the middle of nowhere with adequate hearing protection, why not

but if you're testing in an urban area where unexplained bangs can attract the ire of your neighbours or at worst the attention of local law enforcement, suppressors are a good thing.
