It's just a solid block of steel with some holes right now
I'm going to shoot it first, then improve it if i'm satisfied with the results

Trust me, you'll find this design very efficient! I think for the dollar it is the most cost effective valve ever designed!

I would like to try it. But, how are you going to contain all this pressure?
It would need an insanely thick metal tube.
And, I can't get stuff like that (I probably could, but I don't want to)

cannon OD :29,70 mm
Bore: 6,00 mm
barrel length: 56,34 mm (short)
total length: 80,66 mm
wall thickness: 11,89 mm
It's completely constructed out of FE360.

Not saying I'm going to but...
If I had to make a cannon to utilize "the good stuff" with a wind velocity of around 7000m/s I would probably use something like this:
Barrel OD - 3", ID - .69", ammo - 9/16" bearings, Effective length - 5"
This little guy weighs 30 lbs as is lol.

Come on, mobile, could you really go to sleep at night knowing all the gas you're losing through that blow hole in the back of your *super awesome air* powered launcher?
To the best of my knowledge, my old *super awesome air* launcher is the largest bore one constructed by anyone here, and it used a 9.5mm bore with a 64mm outer diameter chamber. If anyone here has some FEM experience, modeling the survival of one of these could be an interesting project. The super awesome air SB15 referred to is of much higher grade than what I was using, and could potentially generate over ten times the pressure. Survival of your design is seriously questionable, methinks. Also, you need MOAR thread engagement
Please try this. I've been waiting for almost three years now for someone to continue the testing I started

Spudfiles' resident expert on all things that sail through the air at improbable speeds, trailing an incandescent wake of ionized air, dissociated polymers and metal oxides.
I'd like to try something also these lines, having developed an interest in "super awesome air". I need a little while to catch my breath again, but I'll let you know when I have.
I have a lot of land so loud noises aren't a problem for me. Considering the wind velocity of my lungs should be up to 6000m/s.
DYI, you'll have a PM shortly.

OK DYI,
2" thread engagement, constant diameter bore (.69"), and at a density of 1g/cm^3 (I'm not that good at packing air in my cheeks, and I don't want them to burst on me either...) This little guy can hold appx 7 grams of air in it using the cartridge design.
I feel no need for a long barrel but you can state your reason for one otherwise...
