I need about a foot of 5" I.D. pipe (metal, plastic.. it doesn't matter). Most metal fabrication and supply stores have a minimum order and I've tried places like this one but they never get back to me when contacted.

Does anyone know of a good supplier with no minimum order?

ummm... scrapyard?

lots of stuff lying around. I think that there's a big chance of finding what you need.

If I would need such a short pipe I would roll one out of sheet metal and weld it.

I would check lowes for a plastic pvc 5" pipe. American Plumbing here in Birmingham could possibly have it.

My local plumbing supply store has a giant pile of scraps that people have left after the took the pipe they needed. Id look around for a plumbing supply store and ask if they have any scraps. I got 7 feet of 1.5 inch sdr21 pipe for under 2 bucks. This is for plastic. What do you need it for if you dont mind my asking. Plastic will be cheaper but if it for any pressure would got with metal as its hard to find pressure rated 5 inch pipe.

It's for the breech sleeve on my 4" cannon, so it doesn't need to be pressure rated. Can you even get 5" PVC? I've never seen it.

Ok Jimmy, I asked my grand father if he knows where I can get any. He said he has some but I will have to pull it off a machine and yeah.. Shipping will be more expensive than you driving here, so you decide. Its steel 5" ID pipe, and I can cut it to 1' if you need me to.

If the barrel is 4in. PVC you could use a repair coupling like this. It's like a normal coupling without the nub in the middle that the pipe seats against. You could always just grind out the nub from a normal 4in. coupling instead.

I can vouch for onlinemetals.com being a great unlimited small quantity provider, and they cut to any length as well with good prices. They are my go-to aluminum store.
