“The combined synergy of a man and rifle is matchless.
The steadiness of hand, the acuity of vision and finally
the art of knowing how to make the rifle an extension of the
body all equate to the ultimate synthesis of man and machine.”

Yeah, at least they're in relief, not protruding! Now with those dimples, I'm afraid of the final look...
edit: btw, please tell me we're doing the barrel support before the dimples and squared off ends... I want to fire this thing

Nice!
I was off to Hungary for a week, so I missed it.
There were some guys with machining experience coming along, and we ended talking about cutting fluids. It seems that rapeseed/canola-oil are good
oils to cut with.
I believe eco-friendly chainsaw oil has about 70% rapeseed-oil in it.
It looks like you pick up the skills very fast. The teachers at my school would be very happy if they would have students like you

Right now I'm wishing I made some different career choices.
Time will tell if I can recover

Damn... took me forever to find the correct setup to be able to film the mill...
The piece is done, and I will try to finish the movie for tomorrow early afternoon... in the meantime... here's a little teaser
[edit] Silly YouTube 15mn limit! The movie is too big to describe both the lathe and mill operations...
So I'll split it in two. If everything goes well while I sleep first part will be finished uploaded when I wake up

Both are correct, but yes, both holes can be used. You don't need 4 locking points, 3 are enough (remove one one the rounded side).
Be careful not to use screws too long for the holes or you will beump the T slot's internal (guess how I know that).

Two bolts are provided, aren't they sufficient?
