I have been searching and searching but I cannot find a sprinkler valve for a good price in the UK. It seems you can get one for about $15 in the US. In the UK they want around £30. Any ideas?

Try to find out how much shipping would cost from the U.S.A. to where you are located. You are probably going to pay more for shipping that the darn sprinkler valve!!!!

For just ten quid posted you can get a 2" PVC union that will allow you to make a burst disk valve with better performance than any sprinkler valve will ever give you.

For good performance in bores over 1" and a low budget, I would strongly suggest a combustion cannon.

PVC primer should be with the PVC cement section, if not go to a plumbing store and ask.

If you really cant find some(doubt it) you could use Acetone, i believe that basic what primer is.

why the hate for ball valves? my gun uses a ball valve and if you get a fast opening one it will be cheaper and it will not loose so much power

yeah but if your looking for more power in the same sized package then piston valves are the go, also they look better then spring loaded ball valves.

Nathan, no, priming softens the pipe and prepares for bonding to the other surface. Cleaning just does exactly that, cleans the pipe.

Note some cleaner contains the same chemistry as the primer. Check the label. I found this out when I played with dying PVC. Just cleaner won't penetrate and leave the dye in the plastic. The primer type cleaner will. Read more in this thread. The secret is to use the ABS/PVC cleaner as it has the magic ingredient. You can make primer stains any color you like now, including fluorescent highligher colors.

You are looking for cleaner that contains tetrahydrofuran (THF).

Tech that is awesome! DO you have a ratio, like how much dye to you put in the cleaner?? EX= 1ounce of dye to 10 ounces of cleaner??
