Hey guys, I'm not sure if this topic will be banned on this forum but I'll try my luck.

My Uncle has a 22. Long Rifle that was passed down to him by my grandfather. (It is also Bolt Action). My grandfather told me he bought it 60 years ago at a trash and treasure store. The rifle is REALLY old it could even be 100 years old and my Uncle really wants to mount a scope onto it. I took a look at it and there seems to be no scope mounts or anything. My scope at home doesn't fit anywhere onto it.

So I was wondering, does anyone have any experience with these really old guns and could give me some pointers on how I can attach a scope to it without modifying the gun itself.

Thanks, Mods, if this is banned don't hesitate to delete this thread.

But the hole in the mount is square, the barrel on the 22. is round. How will it fit?

That might work if the barrel has no or little taper.

IMNSHO...if it's a collector piece, leave it alone...don't mount a scope, DO mount the thing on the wall. Might be a nice mantel piece. :)

Rimmies for shooting are easy to find.

How about a pic?

Can't show a picture sorry. The gun is at my Uncle's house. I don't want to keep it as a collectors piece though. I am excited to shoot it with my Uncle and he wanted a scope so we can aim a little better. Also I live in Australia and laws are tight here with displaying firearms on walls.

I sent the link for that barrel mount to my Uncle, thanks Fexo!
