heh I was going to tell you to use iron pipes and fittings as the cartridge looked a bit dangerous to meThe front connector decided to fail at a 9x mix. The bang was loud enough to make my ears ring under my ear muffs

You really are taking your membership in the epoxy mini hybrid club very seriouslyLabtecpower wrote:Second explosion in two days

Very odd failure though, I never managed to bisect a female thread so thoroughly

You live, you learn, and as long as you don't damage your hearing along the way or get shrapnel embedded in your face, it's just fine

first a succesful 8x mix shot;

(no video footage worth posting)
Then I tried a 12x mix, but that was a bit too much I guess.

The front is pretty much FUBAR, but it takes quite an idiot to put 84 bar
(1200 psi) in an unrated pvc fitting

I took some safety precautions to catch shrapnel and protect my ears, so nothing has been damaged

No, it's the connector epoxied in the front of the cartridge, as seen on this pic;

It wasn't the smartest design I think, too much unsupported surface.
I can't complain about the epoxy however, it's still firmly in place

I still stand by the statement where I wrote:You really are taking your membership in the epoxy mini hybrid club very seriously

I just wrapped it in ducttape until it fitted nicely inside the barrel, I put some grease on the pin so it would slide of more easily.
No nice machined stuff here
Maybe i'm going to do something with coke bottles and hybrid mixtures for new years eve....
parents completely freaked out, they tought I had blown myself to pieces

...if it fits in my toight budget
I am currently machining one out of aluminium, should have some more strength.
I don't know when I'm going to finish my next project, I have some more important things taking my time....

this hybrid actually resembles one I started quite a while back, but never finished, since I discovered our local gun laws (anything with a calibre greater than 5mm is considered a firearm and is thus illegal)
