A small (relatively speaking) transformer can be added to force current sharing on the SCR bank. This is used in CFL lighting for TV's so all the lamps run the same current off the balast. It would need to be engineered for the desired rise time and peak currents.

High current SCR's can be used instead of a bank. I have some rated for 300Amps continous.

Try an NTE5374

I found this text, in the end of it says that chronographs can work for firearms, pellets even arrows.
So does these chronographs with a hole and these chronographs with antennas work that same way? If they do I think the one I´hm going to buy should work with pellets/nails too.
Thoughts? thanks

As far as I know they all use two light sensors to detect the passage of a projectile over a fixed distance.

The "antenna" on an F1 type chrony has nothing to do with its function, it's just a guide for shooting area and a support for sunshades. The chrony functions perfectly well with them removed ;)

Ah! ok then, I thought it uses radar or something like that and these guides/supports are antennas  my bad. So the chrono should work then and from some videos I saw on YouTube it's pretty accurate compare to a F1 chrono, less than 5 ft/s :p

You can get surplus high voltage / current SCRs:
Made by Silicon Power Cube. Package handles 400 amp surge, 2500v insulation. Cost effective if only using diode or SCR, and if you can use both, WOW, what a saving. 5 spade lugs. Heatsink base.
Nominal (continuous) rating as 1KV at 16 amps. $4.50
