Semi-auto 800 PSI .51cal WIP
Hmm hadnt thought about that. Good thinking.
Had to order a new adapter so i could attach the slide valve to the piston valve, im hopin the slide valve can pilot the piston valve adequately, should be able to.
for now, this gun will have a small chamber as you can see as it'll be using 12 gram cartridges, mostly cuz it wont be fired very often, mostly just for testing. When I go home for the summer I'll be increasing chamber size, running a remote line and running it off of a CO2 tank.

Update: Think this may end up being the final configuration. I'd like to try and find a way to lower the mag block, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to.
Actuating the slide valve may prove to be a bit tricky because it will have to be actuated in the opposite direction of the trigger pull.
There's still some leaking, haven't isolated it yet.. I'm hoping its not the piston valve face cuz that'll be a pain in the ass to fix with the tools I have here at school.
The slide valve pilots the piston valve extremely well... I daresay even better than the QEV+ slide valve combination.
Now all I have to do is fix all the leaks, cut out holes in the barrel for magazine, air input, and a slot for the bolt handle to slide in. Then wait to get the bolt machined, and once all that is done, build a body! hooray.

Very nice. I would recommend changing the street elbows to brass, they will make the gun more low profile.

Notice how the galvanized one has all the extra material that makes it longer. I dunno if you can get it in 3/4" but definitely 1/2".
Just that one modification will make it look much better, I think

yea... i looked on mcmaster but couldn't find that style of brass elbow. Just normal brass elbows... might have to go to my local home depot. we'll see.
Where can you find that style of brass elbow?

I dunno if I'd get them from McMaster but I can get them at home depot and ace hardware, sometimes. It depends what they have in stock. Sometimes they're the ugly cast ones and sometime they're the nice ones that look like they're machined but are probably actually cast lol

Nice job finding those on mcmaster I could only find the normal cast ones.
I'll probably have to order em on mcmaster... never seen them at my local home depot. I do love these tho as they lower the profile like you said. Little pricey, but it'll compact it alot better

Yeah very pricey. But I just think it'll make it look so much better. I think with such a nicely machined aluminum block it's only fair to the gun to give it a couple nice brass fittings.

yup. I'm gettin those two so that it gives it a much smaller profile. Even tho when I build a body the fittings will be hidden, it'll allow me to make the body much smaller.

About those fittings, I just linked the first ones I saw with that shape, there might be some cheaper ones, I'll check for you tomorrow cause I'm ok mobile now, but I'm pretty sure those are the cheapest.
Regarding the body, do you have the basic idea yet? I'd like to see what you're planning and maybe help you with it.

yea i think they are too.
as far as body goes, I'm going to start drawing out some ideas friday. I'd like to start sooner but I have a big lab report and a big exam both on Thursday so I need to focus on that.
When I start drawing up some ideas for the body I'll definitely post them and look forward to your input!
Right now, this will be a bolt action, mag fed. Later on however, i may add an air cylinder to make it semi automatic.

NPTF fittings are generally in the square brass style, and they're completely compatable with standard NPT
I love lamp
