This is using one of the first set of fins I made, right?
Strange how this one penetrated while the other ricocheted - I'm almost certain that the fins of the first one must have broken in the barrel and it hit the beam side-on.

The tungsten round clearly isn't flying straight after penetrating the first flange so no wonder it didn't penetrate the second.
What were you thinking shooting the lead round, of course it was going to disappear completely without penetrating

Not surprised considering how you shot at the beam, the slightly destabilised projectile and draft angle combined with an open side would make it quite prone to going for a spin.EDIT : I think about when shooting tungsten, I heard a "psiiiiiiiii" a very strong rebound
