New to this need some tips

Hey,

I was thinking about building a rifle that could reach 60-100 meters with power but considering something like this could blow in my hands built with PVC i'd like some words from experient users first.

So from my understanding there's a barrel, valves, the air tank, a second air tank with lower PSI for shooting and the optional lead, pellets reservoir. I think what im looking for is something that shoots 800 PSI? Should i look for a tube that can hold 800 PSI or 900-1000 PSI? the barrel needs the same PSI resistance?

YOu probably wanna hit the target to 60 m, right?. i only sow one rifle that can do it. it was a qev shooting @ 40 bar. he used a rifled barrel from an air rifle and he used JSb pellets. as about power myself have enough power with my guns to knock down "something" by 40 m with a o.25 g bb at 30 bar. it only matter what is that "something" you wanna put a hole in it.!
So if you want something powerful i recomad you a semiautomatic custom made QEV. or something easier and faster to build - a hammer valve made of a nr.1 fire extinguisher. they will not hold 1000 psi ! but 40 bar. depending of the tube .

Hmmm, suppose i would want to cause pain to drunk's leg at 60 m just enough to snap him out of the loud speech and move on, im not saying thats what im looking for, its just to give you something you can associate to the power it needs.

besides the air reservoirs is there anything else i should be careful with? Like the barrel resistance?

if you shoot plastic bb's...any type of barrel should be ok. but i would rather buy a innox pipe as it be more suitable for steel bb's and other sort of metal stuff you will want to use as ammo.-

That sort of accuracy is difficult without a rifled barrel, if you're in Portugal there is a certain member of the forum who might be able to help you out

@Terramoto então querias fazer uma carabina de pressão? Quanto estas disposto em gastar? Que tipo de equipamento/maquinas tens? Este fui eu que fiz e com um cano estriado barato é comparavel com uma carabina PCP comercial de cama baixa e agora estou a construir outro melhor.

@wyz2285 I dunno man, my main objective is to build something that can throw ammo on a straight line for 60-100m. I started wondering if i could build something with this power using things bought in a local store. But from what i've been reading there's no QEV that holds near *800 PSI and i also have to riffle a barrel (or buy one riffled, or riffle ammo).

Would something like this or this work as a QEV with 800 PSI?
Is there an alternative to what im looking for?


* Im saying 800 PSI cause i saw the vid with the 100m shots and i used a calculator with the FPS and it gave me around that number and its the only number i know.

btw, i don't own a lathe :p

You don't need that much pressure or a rifled barrel to shoot that far with reasonable accuracy.

These shots were at 100 yards firing a drag-stabilized projectile (fired from a smoothbore barrel) with a velocity well below 500 feet per second, from a combustion cannon which was not generating more than 200 psi.
