I found some pipe today and I cant figure out what type of pipe it is. Ive done countless searchs and I havent got any closer to finding out what it is and what its supposed to be used for. Its black like ABS and from the end cut it looks like solid ABS (no bubbles). It is 3" pipe and the walls are thicker than 3" Sch 80 pipe. This is what it says on the pipe

000040 FT - WL Plastics UT - 3" IPS - D? 1 1 - PE -3408 - ASTMF - 714 - AWWA - C - 901 - PC 160 C 3 [NSF-61] D 8 6 A 1 R - C 1 - 4 - 30 - 0.5 - (repeats).

If you know what this is please tell me Im curious is to what this pipe is used for (why are the walls so thick?)

Edit: Im so retarded all I had to is go to WL plastics web site (written right on the pipe). It turns out it is high density polyethylene pipe. Is polyethylene good for a combustion chamber? Ive never even heard of this pipe before so thats why I dont know (Its freakin thick though.) Agian if you know anything about this pipe or have used it please tell me. Thank You.

It doesnt have bubbles. But know Ive found out that it is high density polyethylene. This pipe is light for some reason and Im sure there is no bubbles. On the website http://www.wlplastics.com/products.html they said it was for a variety of things gas, mining, chemical, water, and oil. I just dont know if you should use it for a spud gun.

build a rinky dink gun out of it using few fittings as possible and make it larger that you want so if it works you can cut the fittings off and build it like you want. remote fire it a few times and youll find out sooner or later. hopefully sooner. that is just what i would do though.

you're unlikely to know for sure if its safe by using the above method, just because it works one time, dont mean it'll work the next
