i got this idea the other day when i loaded my pnuematic with a "smoke" charge (aka flour in a paper towel), basically i want to make a self contained unit the mini pnuematic cannon. not 100% on which setup im gonna go with, but right now im leaning toward a coaxil diaphram gun (only to keep it as small as possible). now if i were to use one of the pull pin vavles as the pilot valve i could rig it up with a trip wire pretty easy, and it would work perfect.
but if i wanted to use it as a gernade i would need a delay valve and some way to make it a multi direction blast, any ideas?

heres a pic

o crap i asked a question does this qualify as a help me post?

I think a mini coaxial piloted with a safety pop-off valve would have sufficed. Rather then demonstrating the severe limits of MSPaint with a inexperienced operator.

Lets set up some perspectives here. Lets imagine this launcher impregnated in the ground, with a 'top-down', 'aerial' view as the basis. So the player that activates this device via a string of some sort will be walking along either the X or Y axis. How do you get the this string to activate the device by pulling the string linearly across the Z axis? Sure you could mount the pop off safety valve along the X or Y axis Id assume by tapping into the 'side' of the given device would reduce the mechanism incorporated to 'fire' the device. Not to mention the potential victim would most likely have to be running because the pop-offs ive worked with only open after a fair pulling on them. Id suspect that a victim would notice contact with this string, retracting prior to the string being able to activate the pop-off valve, failing to activate the device.

Essentially I’m saying that your careless action of dubbing the 'rigging' of this trip line 'easy', was poorly assessed, or to my knowledge that is.

you know that wat iwas thinking after i posted it, the hole string thing. it was kinda late (1am) and i was to tired to change it. also are you suggesting that ms paint can accually look "good"? you know your pretty good a critisizing people but do you accually have any suggestions on how i could overcome this problem? anyway since you just blew the hell out of that idea does anyone know where i can buy a small electronic valve?

okay now i have a really stupid question, you put the fill valve behind the diaphram, how does the air fill the chamber? i realize this is probibaly a really stupid question

i still dont completely understand, does the air squeeze by the outside edges of it, if so wouldnt that mean the diaphram is really lose fit?

is that... is that.... a gernade... awsome but its alittle hard to read got a bigger picture of it?

about the diaphram valves, say i were to make a small hole in the diaphram to equilize the pressure, about how bigg would i want to make it?

...I might question the sanity of someone who plans on throwing a PVC cylinder filled with compressed air.

Remember the failure mode of PVC? Remember how easy it is to get it to fail this way?
We don't want a grenade that is <i>that</i> realistic, you know...

That said, for trip-wire triggering purposes, why not tie string onto a blowgun's handle? They are pretty easy to activate - and you could always extend the handle to exadurate that charistic.

Yes, Im a bit critical. More so then that of others on these forums. Nothing personal, seeing as I will be it to anyone and everyone.

Simple view the files that both 'PVC Arsenal 17', and 'pyromanic13' posted. Its evident you used the 'Airbrush' tool, and failed to stay in the lines. Something most of us master by second grade. You also fail to give any reference to actual fittings used. From viewing your diagram how am I to determine as to what you used to enclose the rear of the launcher? A slip cap, slip plug, NPT plug, NPT cap? Such problems are found frequently on the diagram you posted.

As where one could purchase a 'electronic valve'. eBay using the search term 'solenoid valve'?

so what your saying is i failed the second grade, thats funny. probably a good thing i play with explosives, high voltage electronics, and large pnuematic cannons on a daily basis consisdering i failed the second grade. im sorry about the crappy drawing, its piont was to show people the basic concept, and it was 1AM and i had to wake up at 6AM so i was kinda rushing. at that point in time i had not decided what size fittings and end cpa thing i would use the point was to draw a picture becuase i suck at describing things in words.
