it's a gun that shooots a ping pong ball realy fast. it is powered by sucking in air instead of putting in air whitch is a weird concept.
depending on the length it changes power i saw one that was like ten feet that shot a ping pong ball through 2 sodacans and got stuck in the third.
i tried making one and it isn't working for me
my thing doesn't seal right when i close the ball valve all the pressure get's released but i can't find a leak anywhere i have a electic vacume is that not powerful enough?
i tried closing the ball valve realy fast and puncturing it and all it did is make a soft bang but the ball didn't even shoot out.
can someone please tell me what im doing wrong
for more deteals heres a link

wow! this is a new type of air gun way differant and power
this is how it works the air is sucked out of a pipe the pipe has both ends covered in tape and a ping pong ball inside you take a nail or something and pop the tape then air get's sucked into the pipe realy fast since the air shooting in shoots the ping pong ball out realy fast like up too 700 fps if the gun is long enough.

yeh, when i first had the urge to make a cannon and before i found spudfiles i saw that one and thought about it, but it would take a while between shots, etc.
drac, it is kin of a burst disc cannon: just imagine that you have a huge chamber(the earths atmosphere) and an outside area with less air pressure (the barrel), since the diff in air pressure is so big it works just like a normal cannon.

Freaky stuff...
I once thought of a vacuum cannon being possible, some how. I didn't know how to build one though.
