After I had first assembled my marble cannon I didn't have the hose tight enough clamped on the sprinkler valve . I was filling it with air and the hose popped off and fired a marble through the front of my shop ,.I thought it just went through the 8' door because I heard it slam through t he trees outside. Later my wife asked why there was a hole in the 1/2" plywood covering the front of the shop. I had to fill it with wood putty and re-paint ,but no one was injured. The hose is kept on very tight now.

Ummmm, I dont think you will find any accidents like that on this forum. We play it safe here, and always excercise extreme caution, not to mention, if i blew my arm off, I dont think I would be too interested in cannons anymore, such as hanging out on a spudgun forum.

Umm, the cleanout on my combustion popped off and hit me in the nads........
I posted this on spudtech on april 1, 2005:
im not sure if this belongs in safety because its more funny than dangerous (at least not for me anyway) i was spudgunning with my cousin a few days ago. the cannon we were usin had a minigun grip on it, so it was held at waist height, i was standing behind her to help her aim and it turns out that the endcap wasn't screwed on properly. Needless to say, the last thing i remember before passing out wa the endcap flying off and hitting me in the family jewels. painful...yes, funny...if youre not me, very. but the doctor said that there would be no permenant damage, but im sure of one thing, im never helping her aim again.

i burnt my hand several times because i left 1.5" ball valve open on my combustion.

i had 2 lids pop, good thing all my guns are over-under.

i've had the cleanout on a BBMG fly off and hit me in the face, and i've had a pill bottle cap hit me in the stomach, a 1/2" bolt ricocheted off the target and hit me in the thumb too, looked like i took a sledge hammer to it

Just today,I shot my larger combustion cannon and the barrel and chamber separated , I think this happened because the clean out cap is sometimes hard to get loose so I put it in a vice . Over time this has put stress on that particular joint. To insure that doesn't happen again I re-glued it and then I put in 4 screws to help hold it. And yes I have been hit by a couple of ricocheting marbles. One really smarted.

Are you using primer? Hopefully that fixed it because that can be dangerous.

I used lighter fluid and once I took off the cap after fireing I sparked it about 3 feet away and the un burned fumes aand fluid carried back to the gun and lit whole gun and my hand on fire (no injurys tho)

I too had a end cap accident, I posted it in "What Seperates Us." Look it, all the details theres, but in a nut shell, end cap came off, bruised, burnt, and cut my arm. The amount of cuation I put forth now is extreme, as it should have been from the start.
