I really wanna make these wheels for my school robot... anyone got any ideas?
I'm thinking two circles of plywood (for the prototype) with 10 45 degree holes cut around the perimeter, some dowels shoved through the holes.
I have no idea how to make the wheels though. I supppose I could make a mold.

No, not vex FIRST if that's what your asking, but i have a vex kit and own a lot of accessories, i am a member of vexforum.com and vefan.com, and have built over 30 highly complicated robots out of the kit....its awesome! Do you own a kit?

I did, only made a basic design to learn the programing before it sorta got donated into my robotics team

those things are awesome, I never thought that I might say that about a wheel. but dang I thought of that before
for making a one. I guess some nonswivl/ nonpivoting rollers bolted around a cylender like maybe a 3" pvc pipe, but to make the thing moterized I have no friggen Idea, then you might as well buy the wheel

the smaller wheels don't turn, just the larger wheels. the wheels don't even have to turn! each wheel needs its own separate motor.

oh I get it. the wheel is like for tank style steering? I think you can still try something like I proposedor maybe glueing rollers to a real wheel,
however first tell me: which wheels roll (the bigger one or smaller ones)?, which wheels have motors directly attached, which wheels and motors move together?

okay now I get it, but I'm pretty sure that the smaller wheels turn, only they aren't directly powered. still is their anything wrong with attaching rollers onto a wheel, or axle?
