Radio controlled ignition
It would be better to use long wires for remote ignition, that eliminates radio interference, and is easier.
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.

long wires is best the other way is a cordless phone, I wasn't a cell phone... I think
another way is with a car lock remote which is much safer, but not easeir.
speaking of which is infered or radio ingiton safer?

There is no safe wireless way to do it now days, not even with FM Narrow Band Channels. I'm sorry for saying it like this, but, the car alarm is about the dumest way. You can drive in just about any parking lot with a car alarm remote and find a couple of alarms that it will work. There is way more alarms then the AM Wide Band Channels they work on. The inferred isn't good ether, to many cell phones with inferred systems in them. The longer wires is the way to go, smart thinking!

Wait, does that mean that if I do it right I could “call” my cannon and tell it to shoot?!?jrrdw wrote:Yea, someone could key a mic of their ham/cb radio and fire your gun unexspectedly. That would bite in a major way! It's real easy to run long wires.
Oh, hay, what if you took an old two-way and replaced the speaker with a relay to close a circuit and fire the gun, that way you could “call” your cannon and tell it to fire, use it like a mine or a Bushmaster… true it’d be risky but I’m talking about pneumatics, if you had good two-way radios that allow you to change the frequency you could still talk to you comrades and then when your need to fire the cannon switch to it’s frequency and hit the button.

Yea, thats how the Iraq road side bombs are being set off. Wire the ringer to the trip circute. When you call the rewired phone and it rings -- BOOOOM!! The bomb goes off.judgment_arms wrote:Wait, does that mean that if I do it right I could “call” my cannon and tell it to shoot?!?jrrdw wrote:Yea, someone could key a mic of their ham/cb radio and fire your gun unexspectedly. An infra-red system would be difficult to use, the sun gives out massive amounts of interference. Its like using a light-based system in the middle of the day, it would be difficult to make it ignore the sunlight.
Just use wires, safer, cheaper, easier. Allthough a little less cool.

Hey instead of screwing up a good two-way, get the kind the have a socket thing for a head jack and attach the firing circuit to the, then you plug it into the two-way and, yeah the rest is self explanatory…
