ok well i want to make a robot with a spud gun mounted to it. i dont plan to build it for years but ive alays been one to plan before i build and this will require alot of planning.

i got the idea from this:

Image

i am designing it to work like a pb gun and be remote controlled semi auto. but instead of paintballs it will shoot ball bearings. ive got plenty of animated diagrams of how a paintball gun works but the bot cant be gravity fed so im wondering if there is another efficient way of doing this? it will have wheels instead of tracks and 2 onboard hpa tanks maybe 3 but i dunno yet. the barrell and chamber will be steel.

but any help with the feed system would be apreciated.

also if this is prohibited in foums talk i apoligize and feel free to lock the thread

y not just mount a pbgun on it?

Pretty easy to do. Just get a cheap electronic marker that uses a solinoid to hit the sear. which almost all eframes. this can be set up with ease to opperate via remote control.

gravity feed would work but check out whats called a warp feed system for a pbgun. as long as the barrings arnt really heavy it should work. but this is just speculation of course

that warp feed is sweet. do you have one? the reason i wanna use ball bearings is for impact shots im not using this in pb its just somthing i think would be fun to make.

do you think the warp feed could feed ball bearings if i used ball bearings the same size as pb's? i ask cause i know ball bearings weigh more then a pb

solid steel bearings? maybe im not sure how stroung the motor is. maybe bearings of a lighter metal would work. course frozen paintballs can doa number by themselvs

i used to have one but not anymore. your best bet is to find a friend who has one and try it lol. or else maybe ebay?

yea solid bearings. if and when i ever build this i might just have to modify the warp feed.

do you know what mm pb's are?

O.68 is the caliber but don't know what it is in mm.

A warp feed might be complicated if your putting it on a robot. Why not just use a spring or pressure feed clip. Like an oversized airsoft clip. I t would be alot cheaper too because warp feed systems arn't the cheapest thing in the world.

well i would like to be able to shoot as much as i can with out reloading a clip so i think a warp feed might be good if i could get it to feed the ball bearings.

i just dont want nothing on the out side of the robot. i even want to put the barrell inside.

i figure if the barrell is inside and the warp feed is laying down it wont have to lift the weight of the bearings going up to the barrell it ould just have to push them side ways to the barrell

Well Paintballs expand and shrink in the heat and cold.
Every brand of paintball is probably very slightly different in diameter to the other.
