electronics hopper theory - i need help

i am accually try to make a electronic hopper for my paintball gun, which encorperates , a 12 volt, the motor, a switch, and a LED "beam" with a resistor. i need a simple curcuit that when the the switch is fliped, turns the motor on. the only catch is the LED beam is to go in the tude leadin to the gun, and is wire so that when theres a ball breaking the beam, the motor wont run, but as i fire the gun, and the ball that was blocking the beam now moves, the now undisturbed beam will turn on the motor and more balls will feed.

this is the same principle as the breakbeam eyes in any upscale paintball marker, i just want a simple electronic curcuit

If your doing this to save money your self alot of trouble and just buy this http://www.viewloaderparts.com/index.cf ... goryID=144
try and find the schematics for that if you can... i checked quick and couldnt find them... if you would like i can post pictures of my board... its exactly what you described... dont get the schematics for the empire b, halo b, viewloader vlocity, or the pulse... they are force feed... but any other electric hopper should work... i recomend the Viewloader evolution... they are the simplest and best...
Also you would most likely be better with a hobby servo then a motor... because paintball loaders are geared for torque...

A while back I was thinking about this also, and had the idea of just wiring up a circuit that ties into the electronic grip of my gun. Where when I fire it, it will charge a capacitor and that would hold open a relay which would allow a motor (in the hopper) to run until I quit firing and the capacitor dies. By adding different value resistors in series with the capacitor on the side that charges it, and changing to different sized capacitors you could probably change the time it runs. I got the idea from a circuit I was wiring up for my spud gun to run a fan for a set amount of time.
Of course, relays draw quite a bit of power and there is probably a better way of doing this.
Maybe a switch on the trigger where when you depress it part way, it would start the hopper. Of course that would make a hair trigger harder to do since the trigger pull has to be longer.

There are like light sensing sensor things like on nightlights. They make them for lower voltage of course also. One of those and an LED on the other side? Then a capacitor to keep the motor running smoothly during rapid fire, instead of turning on and off 30 times a second.
