Tell me; What good is a golf ball cannon, if it can't punch a hole through 2" of solid wood, launch a golf ball over a mile, or make your wife's dog dump its kidneys on the living room carpet?

While the "over a mile" claim hasn't been officially tested to date, a renowned member of the SGTC Forums (Freefall) did some number-crunching for me. - The cannon, pressurized to its maximum fuel/air
compression ratio, was capable of launching a golf ball over 2-1/2 miles, with an apogee of 1500 meters!

The link pretty much explains everything, but if you have any valid questions, please feel free to ask.

OH MY GAWD!! I think I am going to pray to you before I go to sleep now. As I understand it is a hybrid right? Do you think it is possible to make even smaller chamber so that it can be "riflezed"?

What would the point of that be? Dont you need a source of water to pressurize the chamber?

To make a the smallest ever high powered hybrid? No one ever said anything about making it portable.

I haven't the slightest clue as to what FeLeX is trying to say? As far as answering ShowNoMercy though, the answer is: YES.

The pressurization source would typically be an outside garden-hose bib.

Yea neither do I,maybe he means to make it a really small but quality hybrid rather than something made from pill containers etc. ....

Is that PETA knocking?

Actually, I'm in negotiations for developing a new method to help domestic animals that are constipated. I've had a 100% success rate, thus far.

:notworthy: jesus DR, ive seen some pics of that, but never seen it in action. that is the most powerfull cannon i have seen (of that size). im not 100% on it, so ill study it before i bother you with questions.

lol, frankly, you scared the crap out of me on SGTC. it seemed that every time i would browse the forums there would be some rotting corpse-thread from where you had eaten someone, but you seem very cool and non-deadly here on SF.

Hey, I'm the new kid on the block here at SpudFiles, so I'm currently minding my p's and q's !

As you can see though, with my choice of avatar, I'll get back into the swing of things soon enough!

Thanks for the reply!

Woww...

Just one thing though, if an error was made mixing the fuel in the primary chamber, would it not be exponentiated upon compression?
Just curious. Really cool concept.

An error... as far as what? - If there were too little/too much fuel added (% by volume) then the cannon simply would not fire.
