Using a piece of closed-cell foam, a 2-Liter soda bottle, a couple nuts/bolts and a Mini-Personal Fan, this boat was slapped together in less than 2 hours. (The most time-consuming part of the build was shaping the hull with a file).

Nice! The hull came out great. I had to do something similar for a school project once. I had a block or styrofoam and a file... 3 hours later I had a Greek Bireme!

Go to Slofly.com and look for brushless outrunner motor kits. They're dirt cheap and should suit that boat perfectly with the right prop.

No current plans to make another one. this was simply one of those "rainy day" projects. - Sometimes, I just get tired of building the same thing over and over... and over. :wink:

You'll definitely need to include a KEEL in your design, to counteract the force put out by that motor! - It should really rip ass!

Hahaha, my friend had a sh*tty R/C plane (the ones that use thrust variation to steer, no control surfaces) and we crashed it. (kinda hard not to, variable thrust is the worst possible way of steering a plane. I have an R/C plane that has rudder and elevator control, and I've never crashed it)

Anyway, we ripped it apart and armed with the guts of the plane, bits of foam and wood, a couple of soda bottles and LOTS of electrical tape, we made the crappiest, ugliest, slowest, least manuveralble and most ghetto R/C boat ever. It was lots of fun lol.
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.

Alright, I quickly made a plexi-glass boat and put two fins down, one on each side in the back to stablize and steer the boat. Its a flat bottom basically with a 2 stroke nitro fuelled engine. I have rubber bands holding it in place for the picture but I need to get some bolts and fuel before it takes off.
