Trust me she is. The dread locks thing was last year before she turned goth/emo and you have to shave all of your hair off to get rid of dreads,so she kept them and now she is a dred lock emo lol :P

ohh, sounds fun killa.... kidding!....

there are emos at our school, but I listen to heavier metal stuff than most of the goths at my school.

It's kind of funny.

I am sorry to all you emos out there, but I HATE emo music. it makes no sense a lot of the time (in my eyes at least) and when it does, its about cutting/killing yourself/dying/loneliness.
and the bands all sound the same, with whiny high pitched singers and crappy guitar.

whew..... this cant be healthy.

edit: ha ha! I just realised the music I listen to, or a little bit of it, is about the opposite of the stuff the emo music is about! instead of killing yourself, it's about killing others... lol!
no, that's only a couple bands, and you cant hardly understand them.
other bands, like gojira, are very environmental.
there are other examples, but I have to go to school now.

Yea personally I do not understand the vast majority of "emo" kids. I can understand that if your life truly does suck and everything in it is too much for you to handle then sure go ahead and complain. But when kids have a perfect life, with things given to you and the "emo" clothes you are wearing, that must cost a lot because they are the instyle, what can you truthfully complain about? And maybe "emo" kids are sad and depressed cause the music they listen to just well, sucks.

Why are music and lifestyle attitudes so linked in a stereotypical fashion?

I listen to music that lots of different "groups" listen to, yet I never feel the need for self-mutliation/bungee jumping/"going out and popping a cap in someone's arse".

I know "emos", and unsurprisingly - none of them cut themselves into bits.

Ok, they like different music, they dress in a different fashion and they allocate their time differently - but why do any of you have a problem with their different attitude?

Now, could we please stop propagating stereotypical images of various social groups?

It's not really funny (is it?), has no real end gain, and in the end it sounds like all of you are sheep, all following round the same opinion.

I agree completely, although I dont know whether your response was directed at me, when I was in high school I wore the dark slayer tshirts and people assumed that since I listened to them, I must worship the devil, sacrifice lambs etc etc. So stereotypes are very bad to fall to, but for many, including myself, they provide a simple easy way out of categorizing someone.

Perhaps music is directly linked to the behaviour...check this this is quite impressive. So in a certain manner, the gothic style linked to the gothic music (symphonic dark metal etc....) is a whole thing.
Now, why certain songs make us cry, others don't? there has to be something with it.
i cannot generalize, but a certain study woud be interessant.

Now i don't like this kinda music...it's only a personnal matter. I prefer melodic songs...instrumental songs. o you guys know a group named "Infected Mushroom"? it's a mix between techno and goa. really cool.

BTW, sorry for you ankle. hope you get better soon :)

Is that how you spell interesting in French? Because its spelt like that in German.

Back on topic...well not really, but most of the emo's at my school even if they dont cut themsleves they are really depressed and weird.
