All i know is that finding explosive things laying on the side of the road and trying to detonate them is not a good idea. i found a ladyfinger once, tried to light it up, didnt work, ripped it open, and then WOOOOOSH it went up in flames. learned my lesson there........
anyway something that powerful cant be good to just be laying aorund. id go investigate...........

could it have been a bearbanger.. check out this http://www.macecanada.com/canada/wilder ... idges1.htm
Well, according to regulations. Flashpowder, I am aware is classified as a high explosive. However, its explosive power is far below most high explosives, and it can be ignited with a simple fuse. A high explosive is classified pretty much as anything more explosive than 4f gunpowder I believe. And yes, I KNOW that m-80's have flashpowder. So, there is secondary and primary high explosives, I didn't know that. I thought that you just used a low explosive to trigger a high one. But, I didn't realize there were stable high explosives that could be activated with a simple ignition source. So don't rag on me just because I didn't know that point. And I am sorry that I made goathunter look bad up there.^
. That said, I am not sure WHAT that thing was.[/quote]
EDIT: This is in response to Da Pneu Kid.
EDIT: Dude, I think it sounds like one of the bearbangers. I think you are right on.

Ah, that makes perfect sense. Thanks for the clarification. All but the most powerful flash powders (we're talking large quantities of 2 micron potassium permanganate + 2 micron magnesium flash) are low explosives.
Edit: BTW, how do you make your quotes so that the say, (insert name here) wrote: ?!?

yes, scientifically, almost all flash powder is a low order explosive. the most common flash powder, (potassium perchlorate and aluminum) which is most commonly found in firecrackers is definetly low order. for some reason though, the government classifies it as a high order explosive. they are gay. oh well.
in the upcoming presidential election, there will be several candidates who will be running, one of whom is Hillary Clinton. Now WAIT A SECOND!!! I though there was some sort of rule that prevented someone from serving more than two terms in office. Vote Against Hillary: Presidential Elections 08
There is a thing very similar to that, the demo crews use thoses for breaking apart frozen ground or concrete. He is lucky he didnt blow his head off.paaiyan wrote:Perhaps, maybe, it's some sort of demolition device, something used in construction.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:Possibly implying it was some sort of pyrotechnic mine/flash device related to the game?We found it at a gravel pit where paintball is played

Gun cotton=nitrocellulose. Nitrocellulose can be a high or low explosive depending on nitration.

were you yelling at me, or quoting me to ask me a question. nitrocellulose is technically a low order as well, but using the same chemicals it can be made into a high order, but in order to do that, you have to have pure ingredients and lots of experiencesandman wrote:I KNOW THIS IS KINDA OFF TOPIC, BUT THIS IS THE OFF TOPIC SECTIONbeebs111 wrote:yes, scientifically, almost all flash powder is a low order explosive. the most common flash powder, (potassium perchlorate and aluminum) which is most commonly found in firecrackers is definetly low order. for some reason though, the government classifies it as a high order explosive. they are gay. oh well.
