this is one of my few pieces of ammo i have designed but this i never tested. i used a film canister, a bouncey ball, and a titanium rocket bottle rocket. the pictures tell a lot. i got the idea from using pvc as a launch pad for these rockets. it was made for long distance fun. i made the wick shorter trying to make it so the blast from a combustion cannon would lite it and make it go off in mid air. to make it fly at its best i made bad news as light as possible and i used a bouncey ball as weight making it less than 3 ounces hevier than the bottle rocket. oh and i call it bad news because bad news travels fast.

Though it might be illeagal, it still looks cool. I don't think a normal bottle rocket engine will help too much; the amount of thrust produced is small.
Get a bigger engine and a nosecone and you will notice a difference.

the gasses won't ignite the fuse, its not hot enough for long enough, plus its traveling too fast

I just had an idea which someone already came up with but I haven't seen... People seem to always be trying to come up with the perfect grenade that explodes on impact as opposed to ignition. What if you just wadded a full film canister? I don't think it would come apart if it is wrapped in tape, but there would be little chance of it surviving contact with a wall at a few hundred fps...

well when i first came up with this i wanted it to be a grenade but like i said im still testing it. i havent tested this in a cannon but i have on homemade mini cannons made for shooting these bottle rockets out of. they do amazingly far and by that i mean 50-60 feet higher than it would with out the rocket on it. maybe i should but i new rocket in with a longer wick, light it and shove it down the barrel. i could time it with a few tests and pinpoint how long i should wait until firing so it will have better chances of going off in mid-air. as for a bigger engine i have a bigger bottle rockets that i can shove in it. an these bottle rockets get 150+ feet up in the air. and this ammo was mostly for long distance shooting and testing i wanted to see if i could increase the flight of my ammom which i think i have based on my cannon-less tests. once i get it perfect its only upgrades from there and i plan on making mass quanities and maybe selling them to spud owners.

Please read the rules. Using ammo of this nature makes your cannon a destructive device, which is a federal crime here in the USA.
