I recently decided that a totally off-topic area for SpudFiles is a bit much. Just the name "off-topic" attracts totally random/useless threads.

I did see some thread in Off-Topic however that were more serious discussions, things that are fine to talk about here. Due to this I decided to merge the existing Off-Topic section into the Non-Spudgun related activities section into 1 new, Non-Spudgun Related Discussion area.

Here you can post about projects you are working on as before, but you can also discuss more "serious" matters and have "mature" conversations. In fact the description for this section has changed into this.
All non-spudgun related discussion goes here such as projects, theories, serious questions, etc. All "off-topic" posts (aka useless posting, determined by moderators) will be removed.
That's right, no more threads solely about pictures of your cat, no more funny video thread, no more "omgwtfbbqmuffins" threads about the fat chick you woke up with this morning. I really don't mind if you guys have discussions, but I do not want to have to slap people around because they are talking more about their cat than a spud cannon.

None of the old "crappy/useless/immature" off-topic threads should be bumped up!
I merged the sections since there is tons of good stuff in the old Off-Topic section, but if anything against the new section rules is bumped up then the entire thread will be deleted.

Hopefully this will work out a bit better, I hope to be able to keep the good things about having an off-topic section along with keeping the overall IQ of the forum above a 50.

I'm glad the theopia userbase thing is still goingto happen. I was going to create an account, but I guess I'll just wait.

I assume the rules of theopia will not be changed. Is there anything against the stuff that is disallowed here(launching a model rocket with a gun, for instance)?

By the way, what is the off-topic section under the "important stuff" catagory? Is that where all the "invisible" posts that show up on the SF homepage are kept?

That is a direct link to Theopia. There are some site goodies I keep in there for those of you who are smart enough to figure out how to get into that forum, but nothing you can't find anywhere else.

The hidden "section" that the main page stuff is on is in a different section.

There is also a section with everyones deleted posts

Crap. Now I'm going to be up all night messing with cookie values and page sources.
I guess if I was smart I'd start by looking at how your forum software works, but alas I am too lazy.
