i can only speak a little a started a month ago and i've been paid out for larning it.But one of my teaches helped me.I live in a suburb called St Ives and the majority population is South African so when i go to the local shop i try it out with South Africans and they sometimes help me.

met oefen ek sal raak beter.:D

i am a little rusty though. :oops:

edit- i haven't started learning grammar and context yet just vocabulary so forgive me if it's wrong.

Haha, thats flipping cool! Respect for trying a new language! Its actually a comparitively easy language because Afrikaners are stupid! Only joking :D ! Youre good for only a month or so, so keep it up!

btw, whats so great about Australia, half of South Africa has moved there!! :shock:

Afrikaans is actually just an adaption of Dutch and some other languages like English thrown in!
(btw, you said "Can you understand me", or something similar, right??)

Oh yeah, ACDCmonkey, my sister has a cool African name. Her real name is Emma (we are white btw) but when she went into Transkei, a rural area, for missionary work they gave her the name:
Tandeka and Tembisi-Enkosi...LOL :D
