1" Galvanized steel pipe from hardware store 500 psi
I'm just getting people opinions of how safe it is to keep 500psi of co2 in an ordinary 1" galvanized steel pipe from the hardware store for several minutes. My main question is will it fatigue quickly? Please tell me your thoughts.

I can handle that pressure easily. It could hold unregulated co2 at 800psi.
This should leave you with a safety factor between 2 and 3. The threads would be the first to fail. It is not safe by industrial standards, but, on the other hand, it is probably not going to kill you. It should be fine*

I did that and the pipe didn't break. Just make sure you don't stress the threads
