from what I know its a strip of metal put it as close to the edge as possible remember that the diameter inside the tee it is slightly larger than that of the 1/2" pipe

in most cases the loading mechanism is housed in in a piece of pipe with a larger diameter than the projectile itself. i would suggest making the loading mech in a 3/4" or 1" tee.

ummm... a bit off topic here but whey do you have a ball valve before the sprinkler valve?

for some leak thing singularity,
you do know what a paddle loading system looks like, its not going to be easy with this all 1/2" system, but just use a sheet metal padle and put it as close to the edge as possible, I recomend rebuilding or using a 1/2"cpvc blow-forward bolt

no not exactly i just know in just about every loading system i have ever seen the parts housing the system are bigger than the diameter of the projectile itself. i was just making a generalized statement that he should rebuild it with that in mind
