1/4'' Sheet Rubber in Aus?

G'day everyone,

Where and the hell would be able to find a smallish sheet of sheet rubber? I live in Brisbane and I've got absolutely no clue on where to start looking. I've checked Clark Rubber but they've only got foam what what I've been able to see...

Any help would be more then appreciated.

Well, if you cant find any, try toilet plungers thats what I use for piston sealing faces nowadays, great seals.

You may ought to check your local auto parts supplier(or with a shop, they may have a chunk for ya'). I know I used to buy rubber gasket material all the time. Then again, I had the luxury of going to a place called Charleston Rubber and Gasket

OOO OOO OOO!! I just had an idea!. I saw these toilet gasket thingo's at my local hardware. This one was about the diamter of a small tennis ball and about.....5mm thick. Would be perfect me thinks .

I used chemical apreans..There fabric renforced ,they are made of nitral..Or you could find pond liners..There made of synethic rubber..You can buy it by the yard..I got some at fleet farm. The only thing ,they are not fabric reenforced..

I tried them, it was crap for me but I used a bike pump, if you use grease and an air compressor then it may work. (The toilet things that is...) I am getting a mouse pad soon and I'm going to try that.

Why was it crap, crap design?
Mouse pads are very porous, so I wouldn't advise that you use them.

I work in the construction trade.

Contact a roofing company in your area and inquire about rubber roofing material.
Rubber roofing companies have "pads" which are up to and thicker than 1/4" to 8mm thick for heavy foot-traffic areas on roofs. I have several pieces left over from jobs which are incredibly durable.

Nah it was because the rubber was too hard. As simple as that.

I am going to try a mousepad anyway because I have had success from the neoprene lining of a pencil case. The mouse pad feels like the same stuff.

My first piston gun i made "15mm piston gun" used mouse pad neoprene as my sealing faces on the pistons, it didn't work perfect, It worked but leaked alot.
