help with some details? - First BBMG

This is a (very) rough sketch of what I'd like the in-line vortex BBMG I plan to build to include. I gathered all this from info I've been reading over the last few days. There are a couple of things I would like to take care of before I start building, though.

1)Will this setup work, or will it be better if I close off the vortex block from the bb reservoir?

2)Is there an easier way to open the reservoir than a screw-on cap, and how?

3)Do the barrel (and hole in the vortex block) need to be lower, or will the general area shown be alright?

4)How long should I make the 2" tube? I want to minimize the volume, but still want it to hold about 2000 bbs

5)Do you suggest closer to the half-circle vortex, or a full-circle with shrouds, or do I need shrouds on the partial hole also?

Any other suggestions/info would be most appreciated. I just learned about these things in the last month or so, so I don't know much more than I've read.

the bottom of theblock needs to be the bottom of the pipe (i think) because otherwise the BBs wouldn't enter it properly.

I cant answer every question you have asked but the drawing looks fine to me.

But on the side that the blowgun screws into the tube, the nipple is 1/8 inch, not 1/4 inch.
