Read my post at the bottom:

But instead of looking up on pneumatics, do the same for combustions.

other than that, i would read up on the spud wiki and have a look though the cannon showcases to find some cannons you like.

Great! Then go for it. You have to start somewhere...that's as good a place as any.

As others have stressed, browse the site for ideas and info regarding PVC cementing, pressure rated parts, general safety...etc.

I would go with an aeorosol combustion, simple, fun, easy, and it will familiarize you with pvc

Simple Ball valve pneumatics are good too. Or if you are up for a beginner challenge, try a sprinkler valved cannon!.

Oh and if you are going to mod your sprinkler valve (10x better performance.) Try this link

Actually, for a beginner, I usually like to link to a few sites.

http://www.advancedspuds.com/
http://www.klugeboy.net/ (Movies page plz kthxbye)

No, no pneumatics for you. Combustions are a good place to start, and a generally safer way to start.

No, don't you dare click on the WWW icon under my post. You will be sorely disappointed.
