hi hows it going i just picked up this hobby and im loving it, i currently have a combustion cannon with a 2' x2" barrell and a 1'x3" combustion chamber. anyways i love the thing but i want to build a pneumatic cannon and i got the rough idea on how to make it but i have seen some with a "piston" is this needed or it just extra b/c i have seen others w/o it i just want to make sure i got everything else down on how to make it thats the only thing im confused about thanks!!
also i want to use a 1" sprinkler valve does anyone work or are there only certain ones??

Have a look through the wiki at the top of the page and the pneumatic showcase section and you'll be well on your way.
As for the "piston" I assume you're referring to a piston valve, and no, they aren't necessary. For your first cannon I would recommend something a lot simpler such as a sprinkler valve.
