It's been a while...

...but I'm still building cannons. The inspiration for this one came from my mother actually. A few days ago she walked through my bedroom and tripped over a cannon that I had sitting on the floor, then she told me that if I didn't move it out of the way she was going to throw it out. I wasn't very satisfied with the performance of the cannon, so I took it apart along with a few other cannons and I built a golf ball shooter.

Alright, here are the specs for anyone interested.
Main firing valves: two 3/4" QEVs

Pilot valve: 1/4" QEV

Chambers: Two 36" x 1.25" galvanized steel pipes.

Right now the only barrel I have for it is a golf ball barrel which is five feet long, but I'm planning on making a tennis ball barrel soon.

Sorry for the crappy pictures, they were taken with a cell phone in bad lighting, but they will have to do for now.

The golf ball barrel is actually sleeved 2" PVC pipe. It works very well.

I don't have any damage pics yet, but a friend and I were shooting it at a local school and I had the gun in the bed of my truck, with the barrel pointed straight out of the bed. The barrel was pointed straight, not angled up at all and at 150 PSI a golf ball went over 800 feet. (I will post a screenshot of a map to prove it if anyone wants)

but i think that the elbows and the T thats connected to the barrel will slow the flow ,specially the T when the compressed air meets . this will cause a turbulent flow

otherwise the gun looks great.and what is the blue thing on the fitting and what pressure this canon use ?

The fittings where the valves meet are all 1" fittings, so it shouldn't hurt performance by much.

The blue stuff is plastic bags, I use them instead of teflon tape to seal the threads.

I use this cannon up to 200 PSI

If the valve is only 3/4 inch then there will be no flow choke because it actually increases in size.

during summer vacation after the first couple weeks after all the repairs are finished for the next year you will never see a car in the parking lot.

We weren't shooting at a school, we were shooting on the sports fields on the school property.

The barrel chokes the flow a little bit because there are two 3/4" valves dumping into one 1" pipe, but this cannon was built mostly out of spare parts so performance wasn't the first priority.

Looks pretty nice, must be heavy though. No reason that can't shoot 800feet I say, especially at 150psi.

My school has 3 fields all next to each other, gives me about 400m to shoot on but I usually just stay home and shoot on to the golfcourse from my house

GGDT said that at 150 PSI it would shoot just over 600 feet, but I think that was pretty far off because it shot well over 800.

It is pretty heavy, but that isn't too big of a deal.
